After the last two years of not very successful collections, DSQUARED2 has returned in all its glory.
The newest AW 20/21 delights as it just can. The Caten brothers are able to combine textiles that do not match at first glance like no one else. A woollen plaid, looking like the elegant clothes of our grandparents with nylon accents – geometric, yellow pockets and a red trim? Voila! This is Dsquared’s chic that we haven’t experienced in the last two seasons. This is the company’s DNA that I haven’t seen in other creators. And as we know, there are many followers.
With all my love to clothes, there are a few aspects I can’t agree with.
One of them are the trousers that I do not fit me.
Even I am a S-M / 36-38 size, it turns out that my overly voluminous hips (98 cm) are not worth of Dsquared jeans.
I have the feeling that the clothes are sewn for models only. Yes, I do feel jealous of their figures but I will not reduce my bones. Gentlemen and what about the Beyonce-style figures? What about the Kardashians?
I managed to bypass the system. A man can deal with anything. I persuaded my husband to wear the woollen trousers (to match the jacket) and now we share them. The fact is – it is a strong oversize and not every girl will comfortable in this cut but it is perfect for me, especially with the heels.
Speaking of the heels – this is probably my first pair of shoes from Dsquared.
Reason? The most heels are of a minimum 10 cm. Despite the fact that these shoes are a work of art, I was not gifted with the acrobatic skills and these are worth having when wear them, so as not to twist the ankle or fall down of the stairs.
So I have admired these shoes quietly, from the observer’s point of view and I have also admired the women who choose them. For the last 8 years. Imagine my surprise when I saw the classic boots matching my walking on the catwalk skills: 8 cm, a block heel, gently profiled padding. Quite usual but apparently not. This time, the brothers combined leather with a webbing belt – the leitmotif of the entire wool collection.
I am pleased to say: they are great.
Comfortable, stable – they allow to run and jump that I like so much to show on photos. Hey DSQUARED2, thanks for the great collection! You guys rocked this season.
